In / Out

A nice letter from the lovely British lady Sally, just always a treat!

She stuffed the envelop with lots of papery goods

Including a cover of hand made paper with nice postcards

This is an unexpected but very welcome letter from the American Nancie. She made the two fairy images by herself!

A postcard from Jeo, Taiwan

A postcard from Stefan , Switzerland

To Aurélie in France to improve my French

To Akhil in India

A few photo's to Kari in Norway

And a way too late reply to Miss M. Turner in the USA

A walk around the block

Yesterday afternoon I went to the supermarket. Instead of taking my bike I decided to walk. The sun was shining and in the four years I live in Nijmegen, I never took pictures of the neighborhood. So I brought my camera.

I love the coloured glass!

That poor lady...

The Dutch word 'ga' actually means 'go'. These are detour signs.

It is always nice to see the trees smiling back at you!

The rest of today I will make over some clothes and cook a nice diner for S. and me (asparagus soup and patty with ragout). And tomorrow I'm going to paint some eggs for Easter :)

Summer in the city

Something curious is going on in this country. It is April, almost May, but when you go outside it feels like summer. The thermometer rises far above 20 (25-26 degrees celsius) Don't get me wrong I like summer, it is just that I like spring too... I like to go outside with my coat on and to discover that I don't need it. But we skipped that part and went from winter jacket to tank top almost overnight... Well, let's not complain. This kind of weather is way better then just rain. And upcoming Tuesday is going to be the first day at my new job, so I'll spend this last three days outside DIY'ing :) Last Tuesday I've worked on this chest with drawers.

I have painted all the wood in a colour called 'home'. The colours on the drawers are made of handmade paper colored with ink. While making this chest I discovered glue spray. So easy and no stripes!

A few things I bought lately:

Lovely red anemones

A turqoise teacup, made in India

A double letter tray

Buttons from the thriftshop

A wooden sewing box

At Goodnightlittlespoon I found this really nice ABC. Bianca borrowed it from Adeline who borrowed it from Sarah. I think it is a great way to get to know a person. And so is the content of someone's handbag. But I will save that list for later.

Through the roof

My little pumpkin plants aren't so little anymore. They went literally trough the roof. Soon I have to put them in a bigger pot. But..the sixth pot has still not germinated...

At the day spring started I bought some flowers, buttercups. Now, 16 days later they have had their best time. But they are nicely aged :)

Today I've been running around with my camera a lot, which already started before breakfast: Orange / grapefruit juice and scrambled eggs with mushrooms :) *nom-nom*

*yay* Spirograph

Once upon a time there was a little greenhouse filled with six pots with pumpkin seeds. Twelve days after they were planted, the greenhouse became too small for the plants. Well for five of them...the last pot was still only filled with sand. Will those seeds germinate some day?

Before I made this list (I am at my parent's house at the moment) I went to the attic for inspiration. There I found my old spirograph box. Happy as a child I started drawing and drawing and drawing, just like the old days :)
